Ozzie To Sub For Douger, Weather and More

Eric Osborn will sub for Doug May tonight. He will face off against Brad Underwood. As previously announced, Mark Lutz is subbing for Paul Whybrew and playing Andy Shaffer tonight.

Weather Update: The forecast still calls for low 70's, a 70% chance of thunderstorms and winds from the southwest at 26 mph. As always we will try to get it in. Conditions at 5 PM will likely dictate whether or not we try. If it is raining keep in mind that we don't have as much daylight available this time of year, so the ability to "wait it out" is very limited. Rule 6 (see the Resources section for a link to the Rules) states that the first group must complete their round in order for an event to become official. However, I don't think we should play if before we even start it doesn't appear that everyone will be allowed to finish.

The Rules also state that The GC of D will decide if we play in in all instances of questionable weather. This needs to be clarified or revised. I have been told that The GC of D will defer all decisions based on weather to the League Commissioner. I personally do not want to be the guy that makes the call when there is lightning around (for the same reasons they don't want to make the call frankly). So, I'm not really sure how it is going to work in a thunderstorm with lightning. (I know what I will do -- I will go in and worry about the rules later). However, when it becomes apparent that the first group cannot complete the round either due to darkness or course conditions (snow, standing water, unplayable due to high winds making it impossible to putt) then I don't mind being the guy to make the call, and I will.

At any rate, I don't see this one getting cancelled until gametime at the earliest. In other words, see you there.
