Major Surprise: Schoemer Does It Again!

They said the course was "Schoemer-proof". They changed the rules. But in the end, the new boss is the same as the old boss. Schoemer continued his dominance of the CGA Match Play Championship by winning his 4th consecutive title at Black Diamond. Schoemer took out Undy in the first round, Diwik in the second round, The Commash in the semifinals and Smoking Joe in the final match. You can view the final bracket here.

The new accommodations at Black Diamond seem like they were built specifically for the CGA. Players were able to stop by Tournament Headquarters to take a short break, reload the cooler and grab a Sloppy Joe after each nine. The course was tough, but fair. The post-tournament party was epic, including a phenomenal steak dinner prepared by League Chef Ryan "The Bumpy Gourmet" Webb. Many are calling it the greatest major ever. Special thanks to Undy and Webb for putting the tournament together. Excellent job!
