Week Seventeen Report: Red Numbers, Shaffer Clinch 2007 Championships

The reports for Week Seventeen have been updated. Congratulations to Andy Shaffer for clinching the 2007 Individual Championship, and to Red Numbers for clinching the 2007 Team Championship. Both Shaffer's performance in the individual, and the performances of he and his pardsie Bret Hosket in the team race, were perhaps the most dominating the league has ever seen. It is Shaffer's first championship of any kind in the league, while Hosket bagged his second team title. Well done gentlemen.

When is tying the league record for low net not good enough to get you Player of the Week? When somebody posts four birdies, which is what Peter (insert nickname here) did in posting a 36/32 in Week Seventeen. To top it off, he beat Shaffer who, despite losing big, clinched the Individual Championship. Joe Barrett shot a 46/28, and Scott Schoemer shot a 45/28, to tie the record for lowest net score in a CGA event. Four players have now shot a net 28 in league history. In Week 14, George Tzagournis became only the second player to do so.

With one week to go, there are six players fighting for the last paying spot in the Individual Standings. Also, Brinkman and Schoemer are tied for the last automatic spot on the Ryder Cup Team.
