The Commash is back from a nine day vacation in Upper Michigan. The scorecards from Week 8 have been posted and all reports are now up-to-date. First things first, congratulations to Jay Feller, the Player of the Week for Event 8. Feller established the new low net round of the year with a 39/30 that included 5 pars and 2 birdies. Based on that, and a three birdie performance from Eric Osborn, who was making his 2008 debut as a sub, Rolling J's twisted up High & Mighty to the tune of 36.5 to 8.5.
And no discussion of Week 8 would be complete without mentioning the performance of Two Drink Minimum. Dr. Tazgournis busted out of a season-long slump with a 53/32, while his partner N.G. Porterfield fired up a 39/32. A couple of net 32's is like a double shot of 151, and one can only imagine the hangover Red Numbers had on Tuesday morning. Despite a 36/35 from Dan Freiburger, who was subbing for Shaffer, our defending Champs went down 35 to 10 to Two Drink Minimum. That kind of Happy Hour was good enough for TDM to climb out of the basement, 6.5 points ahead of Light It Up.
For Week 9, we have three subs currently lined up:
Dan Freiburger will be playing for K.C. Budzik:
Eric Osborn will be playing for Joe Ayers; and
Tom Frieburger will be playing for Brad Underwood.
