With three weeks to go, the Team race is truly a free-for all. High and Mighty and Bob Evans stand tied at 379.5. But that doesn't tell half the story because there are three other teams within 22 points of the lead. Carry the Bag holds third place at the moment with 361.5 points, Schoe Me Wood is in fourth at 358.5 and Higher Stakes is fifth with 357.5. In the words of the immortal Jimmy Crum, "this is turning into a real barn-burner."
High and Mighty has been duking it out with Bob's for the past several weeks. Heading into Week 16, Bob's might have the inside lane with a mouth-watering matchup against Two Drink Minimum in Week 16. High and Mighty will need to be both when they take on Higher Stakes.
Lurking in the rear view mirror has been Carry the Bag, who gained on the leaders in Week 15 with a feisty win over H & M while Bob's was closed down by Light It Up. Speaking of Light It Up, ever since winning the TEA Burkley and Joe have been smoking, so much so that they are in first place in the second half of the season. Meanwhile, after getting out the gate strong to start the year, Schoe Me Wood is now just hanging on. With Undy at 8 on the Handicap Meter, they face possibly a "must win" against Carry the Bag in Week 16. And making a solid move toward the top has been Higher Stakes. After finishing a disappointing fifth in the first half, they are still in fifth but they might not be so disappointed. They have closed the gap on the lead from 54 points to 22 in the second half. They too perhaps face a "must win" scenario against High & Mighty.
And just because stranger things have happened, there are three other teams that still have a heartbeat. Boom Goes the Dynamite is at 333 points, 46.5 points back. Realistically, they might not have a shot at first, but they clearly still have a chance at a money finish. Look for them to try to blow up Rolling J's this week to keep hope alive. Red Numbers are at 329.5 and Light It Up have 324 points, and they face off in Week 16. One of them will most probably be read their last rites on the 9th green this week.
